City Of Pasadena Announces Director of Rent Stabilization Recruitment
PASADENA, Calif.— The City of Pasadena has announced the recruitment process for the City’s new Director of Rent Stabilization. Applications for the position are being accepted now, with screenings and interviews to take place in May 2024.
The public is encouraged to complete an online survey to provide input about the most important qualities potential candidates should have. Anyone who would like to offer input can do so online at Bit.ly/RentStabilizationDirector
“Community input is an especially valuable component in selecting the best individual to lead the newly established Department. “I encourage all members of the community to share their thoughts on the characteristics and professional background they feel would be most important in the new Director,” stated City Manager Miguel Márquez.
“The Rent Stabilization Director will have a significant impact on ensuring a healthy, affordable, and equitable rental housing environment for both tenants and landlords in Pasadena,” states Ryan Bell, Pasadena Rental Housing Board Chair. “The Board values the community’s input in this selection process to ensure we choose a leader who prioritizes fairness and effective communication for all stakeholders.”
The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, April 19, 2024.

About the Rent Stabilization Department:
The Rent Stabilization Department was created in December 2023 in collaboration with the Pasadena Rental Housing Board to implement and administer a voter-initiated Charter Amendment (Measure H) rent stabilization program. The program aims to provide stability and predictability for both tenants and landlords in the City’s rental housing market.
