ADOL and WBRC FOX6 NEWS Collaborate to Host Job Fair in Tuscaloosa

Dozens of Employers Registered with Over 1,000 Available Jobs

TUSCALOOSA- The Alabama Career Center System, in partnership with WBRC FOX6 NEWS, Stillman College, and the Alabama Office of Minority Affairs will host a job fair on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 9 am to 1 pm at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa. The job fair is free and open to the public.

More than 40 employers are currently scheduled to attend, including: Morrow Realty, the Alabama Department of Corrections, Buffalo Rock, Nucor Steel, Mobis, and more.

The job fair is free and open to the public. Jobseekers are encouraged to pre-register online at https://labor.alabama.gov/JobFairRegistration/http://www.labor.alabama.gov/jobfair. Jobseekers may also register on-site.

Employers who wish to register for the job fair can also visit https://labor.alabama.gov/JobFairRegistration/ or contact the Tuscaloosa Career Center at (205) 758-7591. There is no charge for employers to participate.

“We’re happy to bring our successful jobs fair initiative to West Alabama,” said Alabama Department of Labor Secretary Fitzgerald Washington. “It’s our hope that this event will allow employers who have thousands of jobs to fill in to find qualified applicants who will be able to expand their career opportunities.”

Stillman College and the Alabama Office of Minority Affairs have also stepped up to share their expertise and connections to help Alabamians in this area find gainful employment,” said Washington.

“Stillman College is honored to serve as the job fair host site. This is a demonstration of our commitment to be a community collaborator with state and local agencies to provide opportunities for Alabamians, particularly those in West Tuscaloosa and West Alabama. “We hope that West Tuscaloosa residents, in particular, will take advantage of this opportunity – that is in their backyard – to connect with employers,” said Dr. Yolanda Page, President of Stillman College.

“The Alabama Office of Minority Affairs is excited to partner with Stillman College and the ALDOL on this important job fair. “This is our opportunity to embrace digital resources and combine them with in person experiences that will support the State’s goals for workforce, talent and labor,” said Stacia Robinson, Director of the Alabama Office of Minority Affairs.

Applicants should come to the job fair with multiple copies of their résumés. They should be prepared for interview and should be dressed professionally.
